Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran Church

About Us

We are a congregation that is comfortable with change, new people, and new ideas. We focus on applying the ancient stories of God’s love to our changing world. From a Sunday School that is bursting at the seams to an active Sr. Bible Study, Immanuel is an interesting and vital congregation.

Our Pastors & Staff

David Anderson, Pastor

Pastor David K. Anderson has served Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1987. As the head pastor, his responsibilities include leadership, preaching, teaching, and hospital visitation. He believes that the church is, above all, a community gathered by the Holy Spirit to live out the Good News. We do this through love, support, forgiveness, and acceptance of differences. His sermons focus on these principles of living a life of love, helping your neighbor, and advocating for peace.

Harold Oelschlager, Pastor

Pastor Harold came to Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1998 to supply additional pastoral ministry, especially to the elderly. He preaches once a month, visits the homebound, attends weekly staff meetings, and takes over the duties of Pastor Dave when he is out of town. For the past 15 years, he's lead a weekly Senior Coffee Bible study. He and his wife Kathy have also been influential in building our companion relationship in Malawi.

Alison Martin, Parish Nurse

Alison Martin has been our parish nurse since 1995. She supports members who are undergoing life transitions, especially those involving health and wholeness. Alison provides opportunities for you to grow in wholeness through study, prayer, and encouragement, including leading our Holy, Happy. and Healthy (H3) Group. She encourages us to see wholeness in terms of body, mind, and spirit while helping us build a network of support.
